Aneesa Francis is the French Institute of Michigan winner of the "J'ai 20 ans dans mon pays" photography contest. Thank you to all the participants. We received beautiful pictures and it was a very difficult choice!

The final winner and runners-up will be selected on September 15, 2010 by the jury of the Fondation Alliance Francaise and will be informed by email or telephone. The results will also be published at www.fondation-alliancefr.org after September 17, 2010.

The final winner chosen by the Fondation Alliance Francaise earns the privilege of showing his/her works in an individual show in a Parisian gallery as well as a trip to Paris for one week.

The 20 Runners-up will have the privilege of having 2 of their photographs shown in a collective exhibition during the 20th anniversary gala of the Courrier International magazine and at the 33rd international colloquium of the alliance francaise, in January 2011 in its gallery in Paris.

The photos selected will be published in the magazine Courrier International in the special issue to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its publication.

Contest rules:

Open to French Institute students and members only

The «Fondation Alliance Française» with the participation of the magazine «Courrier International» which will be celebrating its 20 years in September 2010 is organizing a photography contest. The topic is “I am 20 years old in my country”. The objective is to photograph the youth of your country. The pictures must be original (not copied).

 
Each Alliance participating in the contest will select its own winner and submit his/her work to the FAF. The FAF will subsequently select a final winner. The final winner will be invited to Paris for one week (airfare and lodging provided by the FAF) and his/her photographs will be exhibited in a Parisian gallery for an individual show. The French Institute winner will also receive a gift certificate for French classes (a basic  10 or 12 week course).

20 runners-up will also be selected to exhibit at the “soirée de gala de Courrier International” in September 2010 and a selection of photographs will be published in Courrier International magazine’s special edition «spécial 20 ans». They will eventually be exhibited in the gallery of the FAF in Paris during the international conference in January 2011 after which they will be made available to the Alliances for an itinerary show.

The winner of the French Institute will be selected on August 17, 2010 and will be informed directly. His/her name will be published in our website and in our newsletter. The final winner and runners-up will be selected on September 15, 2010 by the jury of the FAF and will be informed by email or telephone. The results will also be published at www.fondation-alliancefr.org after September 17, 2010.

The contest is free and open to students of all ages who are not recognized/paid professional photographers. Each contestant must register at the French Institute. Participants will need to provide 2 photos by August 10, 2010. JPEG file with a resolution of 3500 x 4700 pixels and 300 DPI.
